Construction Advisory Disputes Associate

Location: Dubai

We are currently looking to recruit a talented construction disputes lawyer with 1-3 years PQE to join our high-performing Construction, Advisory and Disputes team operating from our offices in UAE.

The role will involve working as part of a team heavily engaged on substantial international arbitration disputes in the construction sector and on project dispute advisory work.

Work Highlights

  • Representing a leading international Oil & Gas contractor in series of high value arbitrations (circa. USD 1 billion+) in disputes relating to various contracts for engineering and construction of processing facilities and associated infrastructure;
  • Representing a consortium of internationally renowned construction companies in disputes concerning additional costs, delays and variations relating to a high-profile processing facility located in the Middle East;
  • Representing one of the leading property developers in UAE on arbitrations involving claims/counterclaims for a cumulative value of over AED1billon concerning delays and cost overruns for infrastructure works for two well-known construction projects in Dubai.

Key Requirements

  • 1-3 years of post-qualified experience;
  • Ideally have specialist construction disputes experience in the UAE or wider Middle East region
  • Good familiarity with the key construction and engineering concepts underpinning construction disputes;
  • Arbitration experience, including working with technical testifying experts;
  • Commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development;
  • Team player with a strong client focused approach and excellent communication and organisational skills.
