Construction Controller

<Responsibilities>

  • Oversee all aspects of financial accounting for construction projects, including general ledger management, account reconciliation, and cost control
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory standards relevant to construction finance
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections aligned with project schedules
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to maintain accurate financial records and identify discrepancies promptly
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, including project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses for internal stakeholders and external auditors
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities by analyzing financial data and providing insights for strategic decision-making
  • Utilize accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms to streamline financial operations and improve reporting accuracy

<Skills>

  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and governmental accounting standards
  • Proven experience with non-profit accounting practices is a plus
  • Strong understanding of cash management, payroll processing, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Expertise in general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping techniques
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, account analysis, and financial report writing using various accounting software tools like Sage or Xero
  • Ability to interpret complex financial concepts and communicate findings clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines
