Construction Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Manager to oversee all aspects of our construction projects. The Construction Manager will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role involves coordinating with various teams, managing resources, ensuring compliance with safety and building codes, and resolving any issues that arise during construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and the ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution:
  • Plan, organize, and manage the construction of various projects from start to finish.
  • Develop project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and final delivery.
  • Allocate resources efficiently, including manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Budget & Cost Management:
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Track project expenditures and adjust plans as necessary to stay within budget.
  • Review and approve contracts, purchase orders, and vendor invoices.
  • Team Management & Supervision:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring all project activities are running smoothly.
  • Supervise and mentor construction teams, subcontractors, and laborers to ensure high performance and adherence to schedules.
  • Organize and lead regular site meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and upcoming tasks.
  • Quality Control & Safety:
  • Monitor and maintain high-quality standards of construction work, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure that all team members follow OSHA and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Client Communication:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Communicate project updates regularly to clients and stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing progress reports.
  • Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
  • Ensure that all necessary permits and inspections are obtained and passed.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, reports, and schedules.
  • Ensure that construction activities comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Problem Solving:
  • Identify and resolve project-related issues such as delays, cost overruns, or quality concerns.
  • Proactively address challenges to keep the project on track and within scope.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or a similar role.
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Bluebeam MS Project).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work on-site regularly and manage physical aspects of construction projects.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials if necessary.
