Job Title: Construction Manager Job
Summary
The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements. The role ensures effective coordination between site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Execution & Site Management
- Manage daily site operations and supervise site engineers, supervisors, and foremen.
- Ensure construction activities are executed as per approved drawings and method statements.
- Monitor progress against baseline schedule and implement recovery plans when required.
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and project specifications.
2. Planning & Scheduling
- Coordinate with Planning Engineer to track project milestones.
- Review and validate look-ahead programs (2-week / 4-week plans).
- Optimize manpower and resource allocation.
- Identify risks affecting progress and propose mitigation strategies.
3. Budget & Cost Control
- Monitor site productivity and material usage.
- Control wastage and ensure cost efficiency.
- Review subcontractor progress and validate payment applications.
- Assist in variation identification and documentation.
4. Quality Control
- Ensure all works comply with contract specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate inspections with consultant and client.
- Ensure implementation of QA/QC procedures.
- Oversee snagging and ensure timely rectification.
5. Health, Safety & Environment
- Enforce HSE policies and procedures on site.
- Ensure compliance with UAE labor and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections.
- Promote a zero-incident safety culture.
6. Coordination & Communication
- Lead coordination meetings with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Liaise with client, consultant, and authorities.
- Resolve site technical issues promptly.
- Provide weekly and monthly progress reports to senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years experience in construction projects (building / civil / industrial).
- Strong knowledge of UAE construction standards and authority approvals.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors.
- Proficient in Primavera / MS Project, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
