The Office of Capital Program Delivery is seeking one highly capable candidate for the role of Construction Manager. Ideal applicants are strategic leaders and detail-oriented professionals with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for infrastructure development. This role involves managing, coordinating, and implementing major rehabilitation and construction projects, including oversight of field and office staff, contractors, and technical inspections. The successful candidate will thrive in dynamic environments and bring experience in project execution, safety oversight, and stakeholder coordination, contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of WMATA¿s capital programs.
A key focus of this position is the ability to evaluate and improve construction plans and specifications for constructability, safety, and efficiency. The Construction Manager will serve as a subject matter expert during project implementation, advising on contractor proposals and mitigation strategies, and ensuring alignment with WMATA¿s standards and best practices. The role demands proficiency in schedule management, contract administration, and cross-functional coordination, as well as the ability to lead teams through complex technical challenges while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
In this role, the Construction Manager can expect to:
¿ Provide direction to construction teams internally and contractors.
¿ Review and advise on contract provisions and specifications.
¿ Coordinate schedules and resources across departments.
¿ Develop long-range implementation plans and forecasts.
¿ Promote a safety-first culture aligned with WMATA¿s Safety Management System.

Job Summary/Duties:
The Construction Manager manages major infrastructure installation projects within WMATA¿s Capital Program Delivery Office, involving complex rehabilitation / construction efforts. The incumbent oversees project coordination management activities and supervises staff that includes construction engineers, facilitators, office engineers, inspectors and support staff located in both office and field environments. Additionally, the incumbent recommends appropriate organization, staffing, and management approaches on construction execution to help ensure successful project implementation.
