My client, a leading general contractor with projects statewide, is hiring a Construction Project Engineer (Commercial) to support major affordable housing developments on Oahu. This role puts you at the center of projects that shape the community while offering clear growth opportunities in construction management.


What You’ll Do

  • Review and process submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs across architectural, structural, and MEP scopes.
  • Provide hands-on field support to superintendents and project managers.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to maintain progress and quality.
  • Assist with scheduling and cost tracking using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and long-lead items.
  • Maintain quality control documentation, testing records, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, permitting, and company protocols.
  • Collaborate with owners, architects, and design teams to resolve issues quickly.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of construction experience, ideally with commercial or vertical building projects.
  • Familiarity with estimating, scheduling, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam; Primavera P6 or MS Project preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Prior Hawaiʻi construction experience highly valued; Big Island–based candidates preferred.
