Job Title: Contracts Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Contracts Engineer will be responsible for managing and administering all contract-related activities for our construction projects. This includes pre-contract, contract execution, and post-contract phases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management, and a proven track record of successfully managing contracts for large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Contract Phase:
- Reviewing and analyzing COC’s during tender stage.
- Identifying and assessing contractual risks and opportunities.
- Assisting in the negotiation of contract terms and conditions with clients.
- Contract Execution Phase:
- Forming and preparing the LOI’s, LOA’s, work orders & subcontracts for Vendors.
- Coordinating and following up with the Legal Department for any required approvals.
- Administering the main contract and subcontracts to ensure compliance with all terms and conditions.
- Managing all contract correspondence and documentation.
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring that all contractual obligations are met.
- Post-Contract Phase:
- Managing the final account process and negotiating final settlements with clients and subcontractors.
- Ensuring all contractual documentation is properly archived.
- Supporting and helping in preparing any potential dispute resolution processes, such as arbitration or litigation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a Contracts Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of FIDIC contracts.
- Strong understanding of construction law and dispute resolution processes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in contract management software and the MS Office Suite.
- Native Arabic Speakers.
