Contract Administrator / Contract Engineer (Pre & Post Contract)

About the Role:

Al Marwan Group is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator / Contract Engineer to support the commercial and contractual management of infrastructure projects. The role involves assisting in both pre-contract activities (tender reviews, procurement, documentation) and post-contract administration (execution, variations, claims, and close-out). The successful candidate will help ensure compliance, reduce risks, and support the commercial success of projects in line with UAE regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Contract Phase

  • Review Invitations to Tender (ITT), RFPs, and client contracts to highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Assist bid teams with tender documentation, pricing inputs, and compliance requirements.
  • Support in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contract terms (FIDIC/NEC/Bespoke).
  • Assist in preparing subcontractor procurement documents and agreements.
  • Ensure all pre-contract documentation meets UAE laws and authority requirements.

Post-Contract Phase

  • Administer contract execution, variations, change orders, and notices.
  • Support preparation of claims, extensions of time, and dispute documentation.
  • Monitor subcontractor agreements, performance, and compliance.
  • Maintain contract registers, logs, and records for reporting.
  • Assist in contract close-out, including final accounts and settlements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, or related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in contract administration/engineering, with at least 3 years in the UAE infrastructure sector.
  • Exposure to pre- and post-contract phases of infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, rail, utilities, drainage).
  • Working knowledge of FIDIC Red & Yellow Book and UAE-specific practices.
  • Familiarity with UAE authorities (RTA, DEWA, ADSSC, Etihad Rail, etc.).

Skills & Competencies

  • Good understanding of contract law, dispute resolution, and claims.
  • Strong drafting, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with project, commercial, and site teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Contract Management Systems, Aconex; knowledge of Primavera is an advantage.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Desirable Attributes

  • Bilingual: English (mandatory), Arabic (advantageous).
  • Previous experience in major UAE infrastructure projects.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills.
