A Houston-based general contractor with a strong reputation for craftsmanship, integrity, and on-time delivery is seeking an experienced Superintendent to join its growing field leadership team. The company specializes in ground-up civic and community projects — including fire stations, churches, and other institutional builds — typically ranging between $10M and $20M . Additional work includes municipal, education, industrial, and general commercial projects across Houston.

This is a field leadership role for someone who thrives on ownership, teamwork, and quality — the kind of builder who takes pride in a well-run jobsite and in projects that serve a lasting community purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all daily field operations on ground-up commercial projects from start through closeout.

  • Enforce safety compliance and maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
  • Partner closely with Project Managers to ensure schedule, budget, and quality goals are met.
  • Conduct daily and weekly subcontractor meetings and prepare detailed progress updates.
  • Review drawings and specifications for constructability and field accuracy.
  • Oversee punch lists, inspections, and project turnover documentation.
  • Build positive, long-term relationships with clients, trade partners, and design teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Lead Superintendent in commercial construction.
  • Proven success managing ground-up projects $10M–$20M , ideally in civic, institutional, or faith-based construction (fire stations, churches, municipal, schools).
  • Strong understanding of structural, MEP, and finish sequences for public-sector work.
  • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore preferred).
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Must be local to or willing to relocate to the Houston, TX area .

Why Join

  • Diverse project portfolio that makes a visible community impact.
  • Supportive leadership that values communication and work-life balance.
  • Competitive pay ($100K–$140K base) + vehicle allowance + annual bonus.
  • Comprehensive benefits: health, dental, 401(k) match, and PTO.

Ideal Candidate

A steady, detail-oriented field leader who takes pride in doing things right the first time — someone who values collaboration, communicates clearly, and maintains respect on and off the jobsite.
