Salary Information: $69,700 - $87,125

Who We Are

Continental Maritime of San Diego, a Titan company, is a certified Master Ship Repair Contractor for the U.S. Navy. Our skilled professionals have performed hundreds of ship repairs for the Navy and Military Sealift Command. CMSD does repair on all types of major surface vessels including CVN, CG, and DDG, and all types of amphibious ships including LHD, LHA, LSD, LPD, and auxiliary ships. Our work also includes repairs and alterations to a wide range of Combatant, Hull, Mechanical and Electrical, and Habitability Systems.

Position Specifics

Continental Maritime of San Diego is currently seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to support our operations. The Contracts Administrator administers, extends, negotiates, and terminates standard and nonstandard contracts. Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. Examines estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepares bids; processes specifications, progress, and other reports; advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data; and maintains historical information.

Minimum Requirements

  • Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
  • General application of concepts and principles.
  • Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to interact with customer and promote good faith relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations / Defense Acquisition Regulations and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with ships and shipboard equipment.
  • Capacity to read and interpret drawings and technical manuals.
  • Ability to prepare and negotiate cost estimates.
  • Ability to set priorities and establish and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • US Citizenship required
  • The ability to acquire a DBIDS credential is required

Physical Requirements

  • Normally assigned to perform work in an office environment. Only electrical hazards and other minor potential hazards normally found in an office environment are anticipated.
  • May be required to travel to job sites or other offices. May be exposed to paint fumes, welding, and other shipboard or shore-based hazards.
  • May involve gathering data while observing rotating or operating machinery.
  • Constantly works in an industrial or shipboard environment.
  • Frequently moves throughout the yard.
  • Must be able to maneuver, ascend, and descend stairs/ladders/ramps located in various ships.
  • May be exposed to rapid changes in microclimates, industrial processes, and other environmental factors while collecting data, providing direction, and observing performance of task teams.
  • Ability to move up to 10 pounds on a regular basis.
