Contract Manager

Position Overview

The Contracts Manager will oversee all contractual and commercial aspects of projects within the consultancy, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, industry standards, and company policies. This role requires strong knowledge of construction contracts, negotiation skills, and the ability to safeguard the company’s commercial interests from pre-contract to final account.

Contract Administration & Management
  • Review, draft, and negotiate consultancy agreements, sub-consultancy agreements, and other contractual documents.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Advise project teams on contractual obligations, rights, and risks.
  • Maintain a centralized contracts register and ensure all contract-related documentation is up-to-date.
Pre-Contract Activities
  • Participate in tender reviews, risk assessments, and bid preparation.
  • Review tender documents to identify contractual risks, ambiguities, or onerous terms.
  • Support preparation of commercial proposals, pricing, and terms of engagement.
Dispute Resolution & Risk Management
  • Advise on dispute resolution strategies, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
  • Maintain awareness of potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure project teams are trained in contractual and commercial best practices.
Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or related field.

Experience:

  • 15+ years’ GCC experience in contract management within the construction or consultancy sector.
  • Strong familiarity with standard forms of contract.
  • Experience in both pre- and post-contract phases.

Skills:

  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and contract management software.
