Position Purpose
Lead and own
high-value contract negotiations
and commercial contracting activities across
Upstream and Midstream Oil & Gas operations
.
The role is heavily focused on
commercial strategy, tendering, and complex contract negotiations
, ensuring maximum value, risk mitigation, and full compliance with HSSE and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Negotiation & Commercial Leadership (Core Focus)
-
Lead
complex, high-value contract negotiations
for Upstream and Midstream categories
-
Develop negotiation strategies, commercial positions, and risk mitigation plans
-
Lead tendering processes, bid evaluation, and final contract award decisions
-
Drive optimal commercial outcomes, cost efficiency, and contractual protection
-
Manage post-award commercial terms, variations, and claims
2. Contracting Lifecycle Management

Own the end-to-end contracting process: strategy, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and award

Ensure contracts align with business objectives and operational requirements

Support contract owners during execution with commercial guidance
3. Stakeholder & Business Alignment

Work closely with engineering, wells, projects, and operations teams
-
Interface with JV partners, legal teams, and senior management
-
Provide clear commercial advice and negotiation support to leadership
4. Supplier & Market Engagement
-
Engage with key suppliers to negotiate commercial terms and delivery commitments
-
Assess supplier commercial risks and financial exposure
-
Maintain strong understanding of local and international Oil & Gas markets
5. HSSE, Governance & Compliance
-
Ensure all contracts comply with HSSE standards and company governance
-
Embed Contractor HSSE requirements within commercial contracts
-
Ensure ethical, legal, and compliance adherence across negotiations
Qualifications & Experience
-
12–15 years of experience (maximum)
in
Oil & Gas Contracting & Commercial roles
-
Mandatory experience in
Upstream and/or Midstream operations
-
Strong, hands-on background in
contract negotiation and commercial strategy
-
Engineering background is required
-
Proven experience handling complex, high-value contracts
-
Strong stakeholder and negotiation leadership skills
-
Preferred (not mandatory):
MCIPS or CPSM certification

Fluent in
English and Arabic
