Sourcing & Contracting Manager - Raw Materials (Coffee & Cocoa)

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Sourcing & Contracting Manager to lead the end-to-end sourcing and contracting activities for raw materials and commodities, with a primary focus on Coffee and Cocoa. The role is responsible for delivering cost optimization, risk management, supplier performance, and strong governance across global supply chains in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Supplier Strategy

Develop and execute category strategies for Coffee, Cocoa, and related raw materials, aligning with company objectives, product roadmaps, and sustainability goals.

Identify, evaluate, and onboard strategic suppliers, ensuring a diversified supplier base and mitigating supply risk.

Lead market intelligence initiatives: price trends, supply/demand dynamics, geopolitical factors, and temporal supply disruptions.

Contracting & Commercial Management

Lead end-to-end contracting activities from RFP/RFI/RFQ through negotiation, award, and contract execution.

Negotiate terms (price, quality, lead times, incoterms, payment terms, risk provisions) and establish favorable commercial architectures (volume agreements, price ladders, futures hedges, long-term take-or-pay structures where applicable).

Develop and maintain master contracts, amendments, and supplier agreements with strong commercial and legal governance. Implement and manage contract change control processes and compliance reviews.

Sourcing Operations & Execution

Manage purchase requisitions into optimized procurement orders, ensuring alignment with production plans and inventory targets.

Collaborate with Quality, Compliance, Legal, and Sustainability teams to ensure supplier conformance to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and ESG criteria.

Lead supplier qualification, audits, risk assessments, and corrective action plans.

Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to align sourcing with formulation, process capabilities, and packaging needs.

Present quarterly and annual category reviews to senior leadership, highlighting savings, risk, and supplier performance.

Lead and mentor a team of sourcing professionals; set performance objectives, provide coaching, and manage career development.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Agriculture Economics, Chemistry, or related field. MBA or MSc preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing/procurement within FMCG, with a strong emphasis on Coffee, Cocoa, or agricultural commodities.
• Demonstrated experience in end-to-end contracting, negotiations, and supplier relationship management.
• Proven track record of delivering cost savings and value realization in raw materials procurement.
• Deep understanding of global supply markets, risk management, and commodity trading concepts (price indices, hedging concepts, futures).
