About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Control Room Operator (Grade 1) to join our team. This role involves monitoring traffic patterns, managing incidents, and operating Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) to ensure smooth traffic flow, safety, and effective incident response. You will work in a 24/7/365 shift environment and play a critical role in enhancing road user safety and reducing congestion.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor traffic flow and identify conditions leading to congestion.
- Operate ITS systems, road management tools, and safety-critical infrastructure.
- Manage traffic signals, CCTV monitoring, and dynamic message sign operations.
- Support road closures, traffic diversions, and major event operations.
- Provide real-time traffic information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage incidents and weather-related impacts confidently and safely.
- Support tunnel operation and road network optimization.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Provide feedback to improve ITS systems and operational processes.
- Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and security of control room systems and data.
- Adhere to company quality, health, and safety standards at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or a relevant field.
- 6–8 years’ experience in a roads control room operating ITS systems.
- Strong knowledge of incident management and safety-critical systems.
- Experienced in multi-platform software and modular system operation.
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal & written).
- Valid Qatar Driving License.
- Flexible to work rotating shifts (24/7/365, including weekends and holidays).
Desirable:
- Accreditation from the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) or equivalent.
- Experience in tunnel management or road incident management systems.
- Knowledge of transportation industry-specific Video Management Systems.
- Ability to communicate in Arabic (verbal & written).
