Control Room Operator (Power Plant)

We are seeking an experienced Control Room Operator for our Power Plant operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for real-time monitoring, control, and synchronization of multiple power sources including generators, utility grid, and renewable sources (if applicable). Proficiency in using DEIF Controllers, Deep Sea (DSE), or other synchronizing control systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor the power plant systems from the central control room.
• Synchronize generators with each other and with utility/grid supply using DEIF, Deep Sea, or similar synchronizing controllers.
• Execute startup, load sharing, shutdown, and changeover procedures as per operational protocols.
• Monitor system parameters such as voltage, frequency, phase angle, load, power factor, etc.
• Respond to alarms, faults, and abnormal operating conditions immediately and escalate when needed.
• Record and log operational data accurately on shift logs and software systems.
• Coordinate with on-ground electrical and maintenance teams for routine and emergency operations.
• Perform system checks and support preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Requirements:

• Qualification: Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE – Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation) or B.Tech.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar role at a power plant or industrial facility.
• Technical Skills:
• Hands-on experience with DEIF AGC controllers, Deep Sea (DSE 8610/8620/8660), or similar synchronizing systems.
• Strong understanding of generator synchronization principles, load sharing, and protection systems.
• Familiarity with control panels, SCADA interfaces, AMF/ATS systems.
• Other Skills: Strong troubleshooting ability, communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in shifts including nights and weekends as per rotation.

Preferred:

• Experience with hybrid systems (solar, grid + diesel) is a plus.
• Basic PLC or HMI interface knowledge is an advantage.
