Job Description: Controller

The Financial Controller is an important role and significantly influences our mission while preserving the company’s financial health. The role of this position is to steward and take ownership of the financial reporting, risk management and safeguarding assets. The Controller ensures the efficient and effective operation of the finance and accounting department. As a strategist, the Controller helps shape the company’s future. The Controller drives financial awareness and fosters accountability across the organization. This position demands strong leadership, decisiveness, and forward-thinking to align financial operations with the company’s overall strategic goals. This position requires a leader who lives out our core values. Some characteristics of this position include listening to our needs, understanding the different types of owner contractual requirements, collaborating across multiple departments, and leading a team so we can execute our work in a way that exceeds the clients' expectations.

What you will be doing:

Stewardship

  • Risk Management: Establish and maintain policies and procedures to mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Asset Preservation: Monitor and safeguard company assets, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance: Oversee job cost and payroll compliance

Operational Excellence

  • Financial Operations: Manage financial statements, AR/AP bank reconciliations, tax returns, and cash flow.
  • Efficiency Improvement: Increase the efficiency and effectiveness of all aspects of the accounting function.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure consistent and accurate financial operations.

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Strategic Planning: Participate in shaping the company’s future by aligning financial goals with business objectives.
  • Profitability Management: Analyze, monitor and communicate financial performance to ensure sustained profitability.
  • Financial Institutions: Management of our financial documentation and GAAP statements that present an accurate financial picture of the company for our financial partners and institutions we partner with.

Talent Development

  • Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and develop our finance, HR, and risk management.

This position identifies and manages potential risks, implements risk mitigation strategies, and ensures compliance. The expectation is to manage through and with the people on your team while you are ensuring the overall company's success. Managing our risk through your department shall include subcontractors COI’s, license, financial projections and reporting, departmental projections and reporting, etc.. Develop and report project budgets, ensuring all costs are tracked and controlled. Co-lead with the Division Manager on financial forecasting and risk management to anticipate and mitigate potential financial issues, ensuring everything is properly forecasted to maintain budget accuracy. This should be completed and turned in to the CEO monthly. Proper and timely accounts receivable and payable with all costs are captured and submitted to the Owner on time. Exhibit strong analytical skills to assess financial data and make informed decisions. Foster a culture of financial accountability within the company. Communicate financial information transparently.

This role and position must be able to utilize our technology and software at an expert level. It is the expectation of this position to document, save and gather the required documentation required to manage our risk and share accurate financial information with our partners by properly utilizing our systems in place.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $59,000.00 - $69,500.00 per year
