Location: Hybrid – Bainbridge Island, WA (minimum 2 days/week in office). Office is located within walking distance of the ferry terminal that serves downtown Seattle.

About Solius Labs

Solius Labs is an FDA-cleared medical device company launching into commercial scale. We are transitioning from development-stage operations into full ecommerce distribution with outsourced contract manufacturing. The Controller will play a central leadership role in building a scalable, GAAP-compliant finance infrastructure.

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, systems-oriented Controller with deep ecommerce experience and strong ERP discipline. The ideal candidate has operated in a high-growth product company processing thousands of ecommerce orders annually, understands inventory accounting across outsourced manufacturers, and can move the company from cash-basis to accrual accounting. The Controller will architect and scale the finance function as the company grows.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Accounting

· Lead transition from cash-basis to accrual accounting in compliance with U.S. GAAP

· Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)

· Own month-end close process

· Document accounting policies and implement internal controls

· Oversee AP, AR, payroll coordination, and GL integrity

ERP & Systems Leadership

· Serve as primary finance owner of Rootstock ERP

· Ensure accurate revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and COGS tracking

· Integrate and reconcile Shopify, ShipStation, Salesforce, and Rootstock systems

· Maintain system data integrity and scalable workflows

Ecommerce & Revenue Operations

· Manage high-volume ecommerce accounting (thousands of orders annually)

· Reconcile payment processors and merchant accounts

· Oversee returns, refunds, and fulfillment cost accounting

· Manage multi-state sales tax compliance

Inventory & Contract Manufacturing Accounting

· Account for inventory held at outsourced manufacturers

· Track raw materials, WIP, and finished goods

· Accurately calculate and report COGS

· Develop controls around consigned or third-party stored inventory

Compliance & Operational Controls

· Implement and manage employee expense system

· Develop scalable internal control framework

· Prepare company for potential audit or investor diligence

Required Qualifications

· CPA required (MBA is plus)

· 7+ years progressive accounting experience

· Extensive ecommerce accounting experience (Shopify & ShipStation)

· Direct experience using Rootstock ERP preferred

· Strong Salesforce experience

· Experience converting from cash to accrual accounting

· Strong outsourced manufacturing inventory accounting knowledge

· Experience managing multi-state sales tax compliance

· Experience in medical device sector is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $165,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
