Core responsibilities

  • Food preparation: Weighing, measuring, and prepping ingredients such as chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and mixing sauces.

  • Quality control: Checking the freshness of ingredients and ensuring all prepared food meets the restaurant's quality standards.
  • Plating and presentation: Arranging and garnishing dishes to make them look visually appealing.

  • Sanitation: Maintaining a clean and organized work area, equipment, and utensils. This includes cleaning and sanitizing at the end of each shift.
  • Food safety: Adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food storage and handling.

Teamwork and collaboration

  • Kitchen operations: Collaborating with other cooks, chefs, and front-of-house staff to ensure orders are prepared efficiently and on time.
