Location: A Step Ahead Child Care Centers
Type: Full-Time (early morning to mid-afternoon)
Reports To: Center Director / Assistant Director

Overview:

A Step Ahead Child Care Centers is seeking a caring, dependable, and versatile team member to serve as a Support Specialist with responsibilities spanning school-age transportation, food service, classroom support, and facility upkeep. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and finds joy in contributing to a smooth, safe, and nurturing experience for both children and staff.

Cook & Food Program Support

Prepare and serve meals/snacks according to the center’s nutritional guidelines and USDA Food Program.

Ensure a warm, supportive atmosphere during meals—joining children and staff when appropriate.

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, food prep areas, and dishes.

• Complete and organize food program paperwork and assist with grocery inventory or orders as needed.

Qualifications

Experience in food preparation and/or food service

Strong multitasking skills and comfort moving between kitchen duties.

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.

Clear communication and a team-oriented, upbeat attitude.

• Must meet all state licensing requirements including background checks and training.
