We are looking for a Freelance Copywriter to join our team at Imagination New York. You will be responsible for copywriting for a number of experiential projects across our key client in the New York office, under the direction of the Strategy Lead and Creative Director.
You will be involved in writing copy for exceptional experiences across both digital and physical environments, working on a variety of projects for a globally recognized brand.
You’ll work within the multi-disciplinary creative team at Imagination New York, working alongside experienced designers and strategists. You will also collaborate with the extended Imagination teams across the USA and globally.

Concept and craft copy for events, digital experiences, social content, video scripts, email communications
- Translate strategic direction, briefs, and insights into strong creative ideas
- Maintain and evolve a brand’s voice, tone, and narrative style
- Partner closely with designers, art directors, strategists, and project managers
- Participate in brainstorms and contribute original concepts
- Edit and refine work for clarity, accuracy, and brand alignment
- Ensure all copy meets legal, compliance, and accessibility requirements
- Present work internally and occasionally to clients or stakeholders

5+ years of copywriting experience in a creative agency or in-house
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling ability
- Attention to detail, grammar, and brand consistency
- Strong conceptual thinking and comfort with both long-form and short-form content
- Good interpersonal skills and able to build relationships with strategists and creatives
- Ability to interpret briefs and work from strategy
- Ability to take feedback constructively and iterate quickly
- A portfolio showcasing range, craft, and conceptual thinking
- Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience
