About the Team
The Insurance Legal Team partners closely with the business to support its strategic goals and objectives. As part of a collaborative global function, the team works across regions to provide skilled, efficient, and business-focused legal support that enables our clients to meet and exceed their objectives.
About the Role
The Corporate Counsel will provide legal support to LexisNexis Risk Solutions’ Insurance business, advising on matters that require developed legal and counseling skills across multiple areas of expertise. This includes contract negotiation, regulatory and compliance review, and litigation support. The role requires independent judgment, the ability to navigate complex legal issues, and the capability to contribute to high-impact business decisions.
You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Preparing, analyzing, and negotiating complex legal documents as part of a project team with senior attorneys and management.
  • Advising clients on legal and compliance requirements related to insurance products and solutions.
  • Identifying issues, conducting legal research, analyzing the law, preparing memoranda, and advising internal clients on complex matters.
  • Providing customer dispute resolution and litigation support.
  • Responding to inquiries from regulatory agencies, customers, and other third parties.
  • Anticipating and mitigating potential legal risks within assigned business units, including developing strategies to avoid litigation and reduce exposure.
  • Assisting senior attorneys and management with higher-level matters, as needed.
  • Supporting M&A transactions through due diligence, deal negotiation, and integration phases.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong legal analytical and research skills.
  • Experience in data, technology, and/or insurance contracting and compliance matters (preferred).

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $113,100 - $188,500. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.
This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
