Corporate Paralegal

Robert Half is partnering with a global commodity trading and natural resources organization with a significant U.S. presence and a headquarters-based legal/commercial function in New York. The company operates across Oil, Gas, Power, Metals, and Minerals , supporting large-scale domestic and international trading operations.

Location: Midtown Manhattan (Onsite, 5 days/week)

Contract: Feb 2026 – Jan 2027 (40 hours/week)

Pay Range: $50-$60/hour

Role Overview

Robert Half is seeking a Senior Paralegal to support commercial contracting and trading operations within the Oil, Gas & Power business. The ideal professional is commercially minded, highly detail-oriented, and experienced in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements—specifically those related to transportation, commodity trading, and corporate restructuring .

This position works closely with commercial teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and requires strong communication and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including:
• Transportation agreements
• Purchase & sale agreements
• Storage agreements
• Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
• Service agreements
• Master agreements
• Amendments and side letters
• Evaluate contract terms for risk exposure and alignment with internal policies.
• Identify, summarize, and escalate commercial, financial, and legal risks .
• Provide support on contract strategy, execution, and documentation workflows.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience supporting commercial legal functions .
• Paralegal certification or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Strong experience with document review and commercial contract analysis.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of contractual risk allocation principles.
• Strong attention to detail , organization, and ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

Highly Preferred Experience

• Exposure to corporate restructurings .
• Experience in commodity trading , energy , or physical trading environments.
• Experience supporting cross-border transactions .
• Prior in-house legal experience.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to trading businesses.
