Corporate Strategy & Development Director

What You'll Do:
We’re looking for a Corporate Strategy & Development Director to join our Corporate Strategy and Development team! In this role you'll direct and guide strategy planning and development efforts for the organization in order to contribute to the growth and profitability of the business. In consultation with other department leaders, work with executive management of the company and business unit management to turn strategic ideas into actionable operational plans to ensure successful execution of the strategy. Contribute to the continued profitable operations, growth, and overall success of the company by (1) providing strategic insights, technical expertise, and fact-based recommendations to the CEO, CFO, CRO, CGO and business units’ senior management and (2) executing related transactions involving strategic partnerships, financing, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and capital management. Collaborate and utilize an agile approach to integrate potential solutions toward enhancing our products, services, and strategy.
You'll have the opportunity to:
  • Identify, implement, and drive LatAm business strategy development initiatives. Partner with LatAm Senior Management and key stakeholders to integrate strategic planning efforts into business plans.
  • Lead LatAm merger, acquisition and disposition (MA&D) projects. This includes understanding LatAm business units' MA&D needs and interests, influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization, leading due diligence and valuation, and negotiating with potential buyers, sellers, or partners.
  • Lead LatAm Business Development activities by leveraging external advisors and partnering the business unit leaders, strategists, and functional experts across the enterprise to define and prioritize inorganic priorities (i.e., M&A targets, potential JV partners).
  • Provide strategic planning resources (as a center of excellence) to business units to supplement their dedicated strategic planning resources. Serve as a liaison to align corporate strategy, share information, provide processes and expertise.
  • Advise and consult with LatAm senior management and key stakeholders regarding an array of issues surrounding strategic development and planning. This includes quality improvement, business metrics, methods improvement, benchmarking, change management, and organizational design.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required, including oversight and training of the more junior members of the Corporate Strategy & Development team.

Who You Are:
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science or equivalent with 8+ years of related work experience
  • Requires fluency in spoken and written Spanish to effectively engage with local stakeholders, external partners, and advisors across the region.
  • MBA, CFA, or CPA strongly preferred
  • Requires an in-depth understanding of products, services and operations within the financial services industry.
  • Strategic and long-range visionary thinking required.
  • Must have M&A experience including coordinating due diligence, managing local stakeholders, and supporting valuation and negotiations in partnership with enterprise deal leadership.
  • Must have broad understanding and knowledge of capital markets, how to access them, and forces that impact them
  • Requires ability to develop good relationships with investment bankers and other key capital markets personnel within the LatAm space
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills required; exhibits an executive presence
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, change management and communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive in-region coordination, diligence execution, and stakeholder alignment
Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range: $141000 - $191000 / year Time Off Program: Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible: Yes Additional Information:

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC.). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
