Cost Accountant

Job Summary

The Cost Management Accountant is responsible for planning, analyzing, and controlling company costs to ensure effective budgeting, cost efficiency, and sustained profitability. This role plays a key part in monitoring production costs, preparing detailed cost reports, and supporting management in strategic financial decision-making.

Key ResponsibilitiesCost Control & Analysis:

  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Prepare detailed product and project cost sheets.
  • Perform variance analysis (actual vs. budget) and investigate discrepancies.
  • Analyze standard costs against actual performance and report findings.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and ensure effective cost control.
  • Support management with financial planning and cost projections.

Inventory & Stock Management:

  • Oversee valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
  • Conduct inventory reconciliations and participate in physical stock counts.
  • Ensure appropriate costing methods are applied (FIFO / Weighted Average).

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly cost and management reports.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements.
  • Maintain accurate costing records within the ERP system (Odoo preferred).

Internal Control & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
  • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Maintain proper documentation of cost accounting procedures and controls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CMA or ACCA certification is an advantage.
  • 2–5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.(Required)
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and variance analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Odoo preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Sharjah: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Cost Accounting : 2 years (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing : 2 years (Preferred)
