Cost Control Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Cost Control Engineer to join our project controls team. In this role, you will monitor, analyze, and control project costs over the lifecycle of construction or engineering projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, procurement, finance, and contractors to ensure the financial health of the projects and adherence to budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets and cost baselines
• Track actual expenditures, commitments, and forecast cost to complete
• Analyze cost variances, trends, and recommend corrective action
• Prepare regular cost reports, dashboards, and financial summaries for management
• Manage change orders and cost impacts, coordinate with contract administrators
• Assist in cash flow analysis, invoice reviews, and payment verification
• Support monthly / periodic close processes (cost & revenue recognition)
• Conduct site visits / audits to validate progress and assess cost deviations
• Maintain cost databases, historical records, and cost estimation reference data
• Collaborate with procurement/supply chain to review vendor/subcontractor pricing
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies, IFRS / GAAP, and contract Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
• Professional certifications (e.g. CCP – Certified Cost Professional, PMI-SP, CMA)
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Knowledge of local construction industry standards, rates, and market trends
• Experience in contracts, claims, and dispute resolution
