Cost Control Engineer

Job Profile :

As Cost Control Engineer you will be a part of project management team & will be responsible for cost control, cash flow , progress management, cost planning of overall project control. Main job responsibilities are:


1. Prepare Class2 & Class 3 detailed cost estimate of Projects including material, personnel and equipment costs and coordinate with the proposals and the project engineers to clarify on any discrepancies & Capturing various costs based on COST BREAKDOWN STRUCTURES(CBS)

2. Create a process of information flow with respect to each expense head, such as Equipment procurement, Logistics costs, Mobilization and demobilization of personnel, Material procurement and any other relevant costs.

3. Upload all relevant project cost and expenses data in the designated project management software with clear schedules of when the expenses are likely to be incurred.

4. Control and monitor expenditures against allocations using relevant data from Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Project Implementation Plan (PIP). Outline current budget for each engineering, material and construction phase and summarize current month and year-to-date releases.

5. Preparation of detailed budget and cash flows in conjunction with engineering and Project Management team members.

6. Periodically submission of budget variance report (budgeted vs actual) ot project management & finance team.

7. Validate cost estimate prepared by sub contractors & assessment of variations claims from sub-contractors and other vendors.

8. Evaluates construction activities/progress and verifies contractor invoices for accuracy of quantity of work billed.

9. Liaise with clients to clarify cost related issues and provide timely inputs for preparation of monthly invoices.

10. Carry out schedule risk analysis as and when required and advise action plan to mitigate the delays, if any.

11. To plan, monitor, and control the execution of the project within the time and budgetary parameters, optimizing resource utilization.

12. Participate in project review meetings and provide any cost related data as and when required by the members.

13. Updated cash flows based on balance forecast cost to complete for the project.

14. Updated records of all site correspondence, progress, variation orders, payments from client, payments to Subcontractors, Bank Guarantees and Letters of Credit.

15. Preparation, review and implementation of Recovery Program for cost control if required.

16. Ensure proper billing of change order & document its impact in overall project schedule & cashflow statement.




Candidate Profile :

Candidate should be BE/BTech. with 5-20 years of experience in planning & project control for oil & gas project & at least one (1) full-fledged EPC project handled on the ground (at Home office during E&P stage, at site during Construction) on an inception to commissioning basis. Operate as a part of a team of Engineers and Accountants in the preparation of project budget & cost control reports, The candidate should have Very good exposure to petrochemical projects, various phases of execution, project deliverable and requirements, project cost analysis and forecast, petrochemical process equipments and market trends.
