Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Estimation Engineer with a strong background in furniture manufacturing, fit-out, and retail store development. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for furniture production, retail fit-out projects, store fixtures, joinery works, and custom interiors. You will collaborate with design, procurement, and project management teams to ensure budgets are realistic, competitive, and aligned with client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze architectural and engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, and other project documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Develop cost breakdowns for furniture (loose and fixed), retail store fixtures, custom joinery, interior fit-outs, and millwork.
• Source material, labor, and subcontractor rates and maintain an updated cost database.
• Evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations and prepare comparative analysis.
• Participate in tendering processes including RFQs, RFPs, and bidding documentation.
• Coordinate with design and production teams to assess cost implications of design changes.
• Provide value engineering and cost-saving solutions during the design phase.
• Assist project managers with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Attend client meetings to present cost estimates and justify pricing when needed.
• Prepare and maintain estimation reports, logs, and pricing templates for internal tracking.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Interior Design, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in cost estimation, specifically within the furniture manufacturing, retail fit-out, or interior design industry.
• Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, hardware, and production processes related to furniture and retail interiors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation software like Candy, PlanSwift, or CostX.
• Familiarity with tendering procedures and contract management.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with modular furniture, custom millwork, or shopfitting.
• Understanding of sustainability and cost-efficient material alternatives.
• Previous experience in client-facing roles or design-build projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
