We are looking for Country Sales Manager (Fertilizer Sales) for one of the Leading supplier of water-soluble fertilizers .The candidate will be responsible for driving the commercial growth of the Company across the country. This includes setting sales strategies, achieving revenue and volume targets, expanding distribution networks, and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders such as distributors, dealers, large farms, growers, and government bodies. The role demands strong agribusiness expertise, field leadership, and an in-depth understanding of fertilizer products and market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and execute the annual sales plan for the Company fertilizer products.
- Identify new market opportunities, potential territories, and customer segments.
- Drive product penetration and brand visibility in key agrarian regions.
- Lead pricing, positioning, and competitive strategies.
2. Dealer & Distributor Network Management
- Identify, appoint, and manage distributors, wholesalers, and retail partners.
- Ensure distributor performance, stock availability, and market coverage.
- Conduct periodic business reviews with channel partners.
3. Key Account & Farmer Engagement
- Build strong relationships with large farms, plantations, cooperatives, and institutional buyers.
- Lead field demonstrations, agronomy meetings, and crop-specific programs.
4. Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the country sales team (Sales Executives, Area Managers, Agronomists).
- Set clear KPIs and ensure monthly/quarterly performance tracking.
- Provide regular market intelligence to leadership.
5. Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and regulatory changes.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, MIS reports, and market insights.
- Ensure timely reporting of field activities and business development outcomes.
6. Compliance & Operational Efficiency
- Ensure adherence to Company policies, ethical standards, and safety norms.
- Oversee credit management, receivables, and operational workflows.
- Coordinate with supply chain, marketing, and finance for smooth operations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Monthly/annual sales volume & revenue achievement.
- Market share growth in key territories.
- Distributor coverage & productivity.
- Farmer outreach programs and demo conversions.
- Team performance and retention.
- Receivables management and credit discipline.
Qualifications & ExperienceMust Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agri-business, or related field.
- 8–12+ years of experience in fertilizer sales, crop nutrition products, or agro-inputs.
- Proven track record of managing sales teams and distributor networks.
- Strong understanding of NPKs, water-soluble fertilizers, micronutrients, and specialty fertilizers.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree (MBA / M.Sc. Agriculture).
- Experience working with multinational or regional agribusiness companies.
- Knowledge of digital agriculture tools and CRM systems.
