Position Summary
The Crane Operator is responsible for operating heavy lifting equipment, including mobile cranes, tower cranes, and other heavy vehicles, to move, lift, and position materials safely and efficiently. This role requires strict adherence to safety regulations, excellent hand–eye coordination, and the ability to work in construction, industrial, or logistical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate mobile and stationary cranes to lift, move, position, or place materials and equipment.
• Conduct pre-operation and post-operation inspections of cranes and heavy vehicles.
• Ensure all lifting operations comply with safety standards and site regulations.
• Calculate load weights, ensure proper rigging, and verify crane capacity limits.
• Communicate effectively with riggers, signalers, and site supervisors using hand signals or communication devices.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Interpret load charts, site plans, and lifting diagrams.
• Secure loads properly and ensure stability during lifting operations.
• Maintain accurate operational records and logbooks.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA/industry regulations at all times.

Skills & Qualifications

• Valid Crane Operator License/Certification (e.g., NCCCO or equivalent).
• Experience operating mobile cranes, tower cranes, or heavy vehicles.
• Knowledge of rigging, slinging, and load-handling techniques.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and hazard prevention.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, load charts, and lift plans.
• Good physical fitness and manual dexterity.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Work Environment

• Construction sites, industrial projects, ports, and heavy-lifting operations.
• Outdoor and high-risk environments requiring personal protective equipment (PPE).
• May require overtime, night shifts, or weekend work depending on project demands.
