Creative Storyteller (Feature Writer + Video Producer)

Astra Content is leading the search for a talented creative storyteller – ideally a current or former business journalist adept and both feature writing and video production – to join a global technology company's respected brand publication focused on marketing and technology.


This fully remote role is a parental leave cover from February-September and is well compensated.


We’re looking for a versatile features writer and multimedia storyteller who can take complex ideas and turn them into clear, engaging stories across both written and video formats for an audience of senior marketers.


This role is for someone with experience in major newsrooms / media companies who can write compelling features and then create short- and long-form videos and social campaign assets, with a strong focus on quality, clarity, and usefulness.


The ideal candidate will also be comfortable working independently, thinks strategically about content, and collaborates easily with partners across editorial, product marketing, research, sales, and events.


You should be fluent in the digital advertising landscape and curious about how new technologies, especially AI, are changing marketing and storytelling.


What You'll Do


Write and edit content

  • Create thoughtful, well-crafted content for senior marketers, including feature articles, white papers, video and podcast scripts, and social posts.
  • Use AI-assisted tools as part of your workflow to research, draft, and refine content.


Produce video

  • Create, edit, and optimize video content for multiple platforms, working across both short- and long-form formats.
  • Handle video production independently, from planning through final delivery.


Build subject-matter depth

  • Develop a strong understanding of digital advertising, including search, video, and performance marketing, and apply that knowledge to your storytelling.


Work cross-functionally

  • Partner with product, marketing, research, and editorial teams to ensure content reflects product priorities and broader narrative goals.
  • Support sales and events teams with content tied to launches, moments, and integrated campaigns.


Own your projects

  • Manage the full content lifecycle with minimal oversight, keeping work on track and aligned with business goals.


Stay current

  • Keep up with trends across marketing, media, AI, and storytelling so the work stays relevant and credible.


What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in journalism, media, or content marketing.
  • Strong feature writing ability, ideally gained in the newsroom of a major publication
  • Strong video production skills (shooting and editing) – also ideally gained in a newsroom, agency or creative team
  • A strong portfolio of real-life work examples that shows both sharp writing and hands-on video production
  • Solid understanding of the digital advertising industry; experience with search, video, or advertising platforms is a plus.
  • A high level of ownership and follow-through – you’re comfortable taking a project from idea to finished work.
