We are a criminal law practice seeking a full time Legal Assistant with strong experience supporting attorneys in criminal cases. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, responsible, stable, detail oriented, and able to work in a fast paced environment. Salary is based on verified and recent experience.

Requirements

• Bilingual English and Spanish
• Experience preparing criminal motions and legal documents
• Knowledge of PTI procedures, court filings, and deadlines
• Ability to analyze evidence including police reports, videos, discovery and case records
• Experience managing attorney calendars, hearings, and client appointments
• Strong client communication and customer service skills
• Ability to assist with case strategy, follow ups, and trial preparation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Experience using MyCase or similar case management software
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work under pressure
• Prior experience in a criminal law firm is highly preferred
• Must be able to work in the 77081 area

Responsibilities

• Draft and file motions, letters, notices and other criminal documents
• Review and organize evidence and discovery
• Schedule court dates, client meetings, and attorney reminders
• Maintain case files and update MyCase software
• Communicate with prosecutors, courts, clients, and investigators
• Prepare case summaries, timelines, and trial materials
• Assist attorneys with research, follow ups, and case progress
• Provide professional and accurate information to clients

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
