Immigration Paralegal (USCIS / EOIR Transition Role)

Position Overview

Aaron G. Christensen, Attorney at Law, PLLC is seeking an Immigration Paralegal with strong USCIS experience who is ready to expand into EOIR removal defense. This role is ideal for a motivated paralegal who understands immigration filings, client management, and case preparation, and is looking to grow into litigation-focused EOIR work.

This position supports both USCIS matters and EOIR proceedings, with structured training and exposure to removal defense, bond work, and court practice. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to build advanced litigation skills while working closely with experienced immigration attorneys.

Key ResponsibilitiesUSCIS Case Support

  • Prepare and file USCIS applications and petitions, including:
  • I-485 Adjustment of Status
  • I-130 Family Petitions
  • I-765 Employment Authorization
  • I-131 Advance Parole
  • I-589 Asylum
  • Related supporting documentation and exhibits
  • Track deadlines, RFEs, NOIDs, receipts, approvals, and case progress
  • Communicate with clients regarding case updates, document collection, and filing requirements
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical case files

EOIR & Removal Defense Support

  • Assist with EOIR filings and court submissions under attorney supervision
  • Support preparation of EOIR applications including:
  • I-589 (Asylum, Withholding, CAT)
  • EOIR-42B and EOIR-42A
  • Adjustment of Status in Removal Proceedings
  • Help prepare motions, pleadings, and hearing packets
  • Track Master Calendar Hearings (MCHs), Individual Hearings (IHs), and deadlines
  • Support detained and non-detained case preparation
  • Assist with bond packet preparation and custody documentation
  • Help coordinate with ICE, detention facilities, and interpreters as needed
  • Maintain EOIR portal filings and case records

QualificationsRequired Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of immigration paralegal experience, with strong USCIS background
  • Interest in expanding into EOIR and removal defense
  • Experience in an immigration law firm or legal environment

Language Requirement

  • Fluent bilingual English and Spanish – required

Education

  • Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field preferred
  • Relevant immigration law firm experience may substitute for formal education
