Criminal Paralegal

Our practice handles a wide range of criminal matters, including misdemeanors, felonies, probation violations, and post-conviction relief. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Criminal Defense Paralegal to support our attorneys and clients.

Responsibilities

• Draft and file criminal pleadings, motions, notices, and correspondence
• Manage case files from intake through disposition
• Communicate with clients, courts, prosecutors, law enforcement agencies, and expert witnesses
• Obtain discovery, police reports, body-cam footage, and 911 recordings
• Review and organize discovery and evidence for attorney review
• Calendar hearings, deadlines, court dates, and statute-related timelines
• Prepare subpoenas, witness lists, and trial binders
• Assist with trial preparation, hearings, and client meetings
• Maintain accurate case notes and billing records (if applicable)

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience
• Prior experience in criminal defense strongly preferred
• Knowledge of criminal procedure and court rules
• Strong drafting, organizational, and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
• Professional communication skills and client-centered approach
• Proficiency with legal case management software and Microsoft Office
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Pay: $49,536.13 - $59,656.41 per year
