Customer Account Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a relationship-driven professional to manage and grow a portfolio of existing HVAC service accounts. This is not a cold-calling or new business development role — you’ll be handed a book of accounts and your job is to maximize value for each customer. That means staying on top of their equipment, following up on open proposals, recommending the right service and replacement solutions, and becoming their trusted advisor.

We know what these accounts did last year. We’ve modeled your earning potential based on real data, and the opportunity is significant for someone who shows up consistently and builds genuine relationships.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Own Your Accounts

  • Manage a defined portfolio of existing commercial HVAC customers — these relationships are yours to develop
  • Become the go-to point of contact for each account, building trust over time
  • Track account activity, service history, and open opportunities in our CRM

Drive Revenue Through Service & Replacements

  • Follow up on open service repair proposals generated by our field technicians
  • Present unit replacement proposals to customers and guide them through the decision
  • Identify and recommend preventative maintenance and repairs that extend equipment life
  • Close deals by genuinely solving customer problems — not by pushing product

Collaborate With the Field Team

  • Work closely with our technicians and dispatchers to stay ahead of customer needs
  • Conduct site visits when needed to close deals or address customer questions
  • Be a communication bridge between the customer and our technical team

WHO YOU ARE

We’re hiring for attitude, aptitude, and the ability to connect with people. Technical HVAC knowledge is trainable — the following is not:

  • Natural relationship builder — you have a gift for making people feel heard and valued
  • Strong communicator, comfortable talking with customers and field technicians alike
  • Self-motivated and disciplined — this role has flexibility, which means it rewards people who don’t need to be managed
  • Fast follow-up is a reflex for you, not a reminder
  • Comfortable with technology — you’ll live in a CRM and Google Suite daily
  • Willing to get in the field — occasional site visits and ladder climbing required
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required (role includes regular
  • customer site visits)

Preferred but not required:

  • Sales experience in HVAC, mechanical, or a related service industry
  • Background as a dispatcher, service writer, or customer service rep in a trade business
  • Familiarity with CRM or proposal management software

COMPENSATION & GROWTH

We’ve modeled this role against real account performance. Here’s what the trajectory looks like for someone who executes:

  • Year 1: $60,000–$80,000 (base salary + commission while you ramp)
  • Year 2: $100,000+ as you hit your stride
  • Year 3+: $150,000–$200,000+ — no cap on commission

You’ll start on a base salary + commission structure during training. Once you hit a performance threshold that demonstrates you can sustain yourself on commission, the role transitions to a draw against commission. We’re transparent about this upfront because it’s the right structure for someone who wants to maximize their earning potential — and it’s not the right fit for someone who doesn’t.
