Customer Service Representative

Summary Description

The customer service representative is responsible for handling customer’s requests received via phone (primarily), email, letter or fax in a professional and timely manner. The representative works directly with our accounting, sales, and shipping departments to provide the necessary information to help customers.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Job Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming calls in a professional and pleasant manner.
  • Enter book orders received from customers via telephone and fax, ensuring all information is accurate.
  • Enter credit memos and process returns accurately and timely.
  • Troubleshoot shipping/account issues from our accounting, sales department or customer and resolve the issues through following established procedures.
  • Issue mailings to customers and update customer records as needed.
  • Maintain backordered release and reporting process.
  • Contact customers when needed to resolve discrepancies, provide requested information, etc.
  • Perform data entry tasks such as entering new accounts in our system and processing address changes.

Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Ability to use 10-key keyboard and type minimum of 30 WPM
  • High School Diploma
  • Must have up to 3 to 5 years of customer service experience in a call center.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
