Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Customs Clearance Officer for a hotel operation in Bahrain. The ideal candidate must have minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Bahrain customs clearance procedures and should be capable of handling end-to-end import clearance independently from the first day of joining.
The primary responsibility will be managing customs clearance for hotel-related imports, including equipment, furniture, kitchen items, and operational supplies, mainly from China and other international suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle full customs clearance process for hotel imports from shipment arrival to final delivery.
- Prepare, submit, and follow up on all required customs documentation in compliance with Bahrain Customs regulations.
- Coordinate with shipping agents, freight forwarders, suppliers, and customs officials.
- Ensure proper HS code classification, duty calculation, exemptions (if applicable), and compliance with local laws.
- Manage clearance of imports from China and other countries, especially hotel equipment and operational materials.
- Track shipment status and resolve clearance delays or issues proactively.
- Maintain accurate records of imports, clearance documents, invoices, and approvals.
- Liaise with internal departments such as Procurement, Finance, and Operations.
- May be assigned additional administrative or logistics-related duties as required, though customs clearance will remain the primary responsibility.
- Ensure timely clearance to avoid demurrage, penalties, or operational delays.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in Bahrain Customs Clearance (mandatory).
- Hands-on experience in customs clearance is essential; theoretical knowledge alone will not be sufficient.
- Strong working knowledge of Bahrain Customs laws, procedures, and systems.
- Experience handling hotel or hospitality-related imports is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision from the start date.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Familiarity with importing goods from China and other international markets.
- Proficiency in English; Arabic knowledge is an advantage.
