Cybersecurity Engineer (PDO)

Petroleum Development Oman is the country’s main oil and gas producer managing upstream energy operations.

Core Purpose:

The role focuses on protecting industrial and IT systems (especially oil & gas operational technology) from cyber threats and ensuring compliance with security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Security Implementation

Deploy and manage cybersecurity controls for:

SCADA / ICS (industrial control systems)

Networks and servers

Ensure systems follow international standards (e.g., ISO, NIST)

2. Risk & Threat Management

Identify vulnerabilities in IT and OT systems

Conduct risk assessments and penetration testing

Monitor and respond to cyber incidents

3. Operational Technology (OT) Security

Secure oilfield automation systems and real-time operations (RTO)

Protect critical infrastructure from cyberattacks

4. Monitoring & Incident Response

Use SIEM tools to monitor threats

Investigate and respond to:

Malware attacks

Unauthorized access

Data breaches

5. Compliance & Governance

Ensure compliance with:

PDO cybersecurity policies

Industry regulations

Conduct audits and prepare security reports

6. Collaboration

Work with:

IT teams

Engineering teams

External vendors

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in:

Computer Science

Electronics / Telecom Engineering

Certifications (preferred):

CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+

Experience:

3–10+ years in cybersecurity or OT security

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From RO2,500.000 per month
