Data Analyst (Restaurant / Delivery Business)

About the Role

Square X is looking for a results-driven Data Analyst to build a simple, high-impact data system for a fast-growing takeaway and delivery business.

This is a hands-on, business-focused role where your insights will directly influence pricing, menu performance, staffing, and sales growth strategies.

The goal is simple: turn raw data into clear, actionable weekly decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Build a product costing model (ingredients + packaging)
• Develop a profitability system (profit per item, margin %)
• Create a menu performance dashboard (top sellers vs low performers)
• Apply menu engineering (Star / Promote / Fix / Remove)
• Analyze category and platform performance (Uber Eats, Deliveroo, etc.)
• Build hourly demand and staffing insights
• Develop a rule-based offer and promotion system
• Perform basic customer segmentation and behavior analysis
• Identify upsell and basket growth opportunities
• Set up alert systems (sales drop, margin issues, etc.)
• Track and evaluate promotion performance
• Build simple weekly forecasts
• Deliver a Weekly Action Panel with clear business decisions
• Maintain execution tracking and provide weekly recommendations

Required Skills

• Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills (must-have)
• Experience in data analysis for business decision-making
• Ability to simplify complex data into clear, actionable insights
• Understanding of profit margins, pricing, and sales trends
• Experience with dashboards (Power BI or similar is a plus)

Project Timeline

Week 1: Data cleaning, costing model, structure setup

• Dashboard usable within 10–15 minutes daily
• Clear, actionable insights generated
• Improvement in sales, margins, and menu performance
• Easy system for the team to maintain
