Job Description

The Data Engineer I will play a key role in enhancing and optimizing the architecture of data and data pipelines within the organization. This position is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and efficiency. By collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, the Data Engineer I will support data-driven decision-making and contribute to the success of data initiatives across the company.

Responsibilities

• Support software developers, database architects, data analysts, and data scientists in enhancing data accessibility and usability.
• Ensure consistency in data delivery architecture across ongoing projects by adhering to established reference architecture.
• Recommend and implement data pipeline architectures to optimize data flow and collection for cross-functional teams.
• Design, develop, and deploy data flow processes and collection mechanisms that meet the needs of multiple systems and products.
• Develop and maintain data processes for modeling, mining, and production, identifying opportunities for data acquisition and integration.
• Utilize various languages and tools (e.g., scripting languages) to integrate systems, improving data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
• Architect, build, and launch new data models that support business objectives and enhance data analytics capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data initiatives align with organizational goals and stakeholder requirements.

Required Education and Experience

• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Logistics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
• 1-3 years of experience in data engineering or equivalent role.
• Proven experience in data pipeline development and management in Azure environments.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, or Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Familiarity with data warehousing solutions and handling large datasets.
• Strong understanding of SQL and database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts, particularly in Azure.
• Ability to work with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
• Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
