Position Summary


What Will You Do?

As a member of the Data Services Team, you will use technical knowledge and analytical skill to contribute to audits of state agencies and programs by acquiring and verifying relevant data. Additionally, you will work with other Data Team members to provide the following services:

  • Obtain data requested by auditors and evaluators accurately and in a timely manner;

  • Obtain and validate large complex sets of data from various sources, and efficiently identify, reconcile, understand, and resolve any issues;

  • Utilize critical-thinking skills to support functional analysis of data;

  • Create and maintain clear and accurate documentation of data sources, extraction methods and transformation processes.

  • Apply data-querying techniques to large, unstructured data sets.

  • Consider and research new tools and methods to accomplish objectives to receive and analyze data.

Salary Information


Salary is commensurate with candidate qualifications, certifications, and experience.

Qualifications


Who Are You?

As a qualified candidate:

  • You are able to maintain strict nonpartisanship.

  • You have at least five years of recent professional experience with government data extraction, cleansing, and transformation.

  • You have at least five years of professional experience using advanced features of software packages, such as STATA, R, Microsoft Excel/Access, ACL, Power BI, ArcGIS.

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, data science, statistics, or a related field.

In addition, as a well-qualified candidate:

  • You have experience querying data using applications such as SQL Server, Oracle, PeopleSoft and Workday.

  • You have solid knowledge of database structures and software, as well as statistical and data mining software.

  • You have experience transforming government data to a usable format.

  • You have the ability to multi-task and advance multiple projects simultaneously.

  • You are self-motivated to learn and meet deadlines.

  • You are successful in translating technical information to a non-technical audience.

  • You are able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.

  • You are able to develop positive working relationships with teammates and other colleagues.

  • You are able to self-reflect and respond to feedback in a positive and constructive manner.
