Database Administration

Job Overview:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (preferred)
10+ years of experience in database administration
8+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and above)
Extensive experience with PostgreSQL, including administration and optimization

• Proven ability to manage and optimize large datasets (2+ billion records)
• Expertise in query optimization, indexing strategies, and database internals
• Experience with high-availability solutions (e.g., Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Replication)
• Solid understanding of partitioning, data archiving, and scaling techniques (horizontal/vertical)
• Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, T-SQL, Bash, or Python) for automation and maintenance tasks
• Familiarity with cloud databases: Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Amazon Aurora, or managed PostgreSQL
• Strong SQL query optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in teams
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively under tight deadlines
• Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare) is a plus

Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, PostgreSQL Certified Professional, MongoDB Certified DBA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
