Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Daycare Lead Teacher to oversee and support the development of young children in our early childhood education center. The ideal candidate will have a passion for nurturing children, fostering a positive learning environment, and guiding a team of assistant teachers. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's growth and learning during their formative years.

Duties

  • Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards.
  • Supervise and support assistant teachers and caregivers, ensuring effective classroom management and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children from infants to preschool age, including toddler care.
  • Observe and assess children's developmental progress, communicating with parents about milestones and concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, including first aid procedures.
  • Manage classroom activities to promote social-emotional development, behavior management, and positive interactions among children.
  • Coordinate daily routines such as meal times, nap schedules, and outdoor play.
  • Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized attention when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and developmental progress reports.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and classroom management techniques.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional training in special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with parents, staff, and community partners.
  • Ability to create a nurturing environment that promotes learning through play and exploration.
  • Experience with infants through preschool-aged children, including toddler care.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively while maintaining professionalism.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
