Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. This role involves implementing developmental activities, managing classroom routines, and fostering positive social interactions to support each child's growth. A strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children with diverse needs are essential to ensure a high-quality learning experience for all students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times.
- Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior guidance strategies.
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and potty training for infants and toddlers.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and play areas in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Support children with special needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and company policies related to childcare standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific caregiving techniques.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not already certified.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to create a nurturing environment that promotes learning through play and exploration.
- Flexibility to work scheduled hours that align with daycare operations; previous experience in toddler care or infant care is beneficial.
- A caring attitude, patience, reliability, and a genuine passion for early childhood education are essential qualities for success in this role.
- Pass a background check and child abuse check with the state of Mississippi. Must have a 121 shot record From the Health Dept cleared for work requirements.
