Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising and engaging children during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Support classroom teachers by implementing lesson plans, activities, and routines tailored to different age groups including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
  • Provide attentive care for children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment that promotes learning and development
  • Help manage behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and consistent caregiving practices
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
  • Support the transition of children between activities and assist with diapering, feeding, nap times, and other caregiving duties

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus
  • Experience with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patience and enthusiasm
  • Strong communication skills to interact positively with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Flexibility to float between classrooms based on staffing needs and program demands
