About the Company

MAIR Group is a young, high growth, strategic investment group focusing on food security, retail and real estate. Founded by the consolidation of historic retail Co-operatives of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Al Dhafra and Delma. Also under the group is Makani, the Real Estate company focusing on development and managing regional and community malls. Listed on ADX in December 2024 but still with majority Emirati family shareholding. The portfolio presently consists of 120+ retail stores and 12 shopping centers. We have capital to expand retail and mall portfolio.

About the Role

Delicatessen & Ready Meals Commercial Managers is responsible for developing and implementing business strategies to increase company sales and profits, and for the development of concepts & assortment based on customer decision tree and the Fresh Commercial overall strategy. Strong knowledge of Delicatessen products (Cheese, Antipasti, pickles, mortadella) and understanding of product origin and process. Awareness of culinary practice within a production unit and adherence to regulatory fresh food guidelines related to the preparation of Food to Go products. Ability to develop menus & concepts within the Food to Go portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals to accelerate growth
  • Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities
  • Understand and address the requirements of existing customers
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for Fresh Food Director
  • Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders with deep product knowledge
  • Identify new market opportunities and implement actions to leverage them
  • Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring
  • Negotiate and agree supplier contracts
  • Adhere to regulatory fresh food guidelines
  • Develop a centralized production unit and manage supplier product development
  • Develop Private label brands and collaborate with a large in-house team
  • Develop planograms & assortment matrix
  • Negotiate supplier yearly rebate contracts and related contract conditions
Qualifications
  • Culinary background or training would be beneficial
  • Apprenticeship within the Food sector or degree holder
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Supermarket experience of 2 years in Operations or Commercial in the respective field
Required Skills
  • Proven experience as a Retail Commercial Manager or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
  • Commercial awareness with a strategic mindset
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Culinary background or training would be beneficial
  • Solid knowledge of Fresh Food production methods and processes
