Job Summary

The Demi Chef is fully responsible for managing and leading all kitchen operations. This role serves as the Head of Kitchen and ensures the highest standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, cost control, and team performance are consistently maintained in line with hotel standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesKitchen Operations Management

  • Lead and manage the entire kitchen operation on a daily basis.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise all food preparation and production activities.
  • Ensure timely and efficient service for all outlets, room service, banquets, and special events.
  • Maintain consistency in food taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Develop and standardize recipes and portion control.

Leadership & Team Supervision

  • Supervise, train, and mentor all kitchen staff including Commis and kitchen helpers.
  • Prepare duty rosters and allocate responsibilities.
  • Maintain discipline and ensure teamwork within the department.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of kitchen team members.

Food Safety & Hygiene

  • Ensure strict compliance with HACCP and municipality regulations.
  • Monitor food storage, labeling, temperature control, and FIFO procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas.
  • Ensure all team members follow personal hygiene standards.

Cost Control & Inventory

  • Control food cost and minimize wastage.
  • Prepare daily market lists and requisitions.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and inventory.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and coordinate maintenance when needed.

Menu Planning & Development

  • Design menus in coordination with management.
  • Develop seasonal offers and special promotions.
  • Support revenue generation through creative menu planning and cost efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirement

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a hotel kitchen.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing a kitchen team.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle full kitchen responsibility.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
