Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your energy and expertise will help create a welcoming environment for patients and support the delivery of exceptional dental care. In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to positive patient experiences and uphold the highest standards of infection control and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques.
  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support.
  • Take and develop X-ray images while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety protocols.
  • Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes.
  • Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and assisting with patient comfort.
  • Perform medical imaging tasks including 3D scanning when applicable, and record medical documentation accurately for each patient visit.
  • Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments with a dental receptionist mindset, verifying insurance information, and managing medical coding for billing purposes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and terminology.
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while complying with HIPAA regulations and radiation safety standards (This can be taught on the job.)
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics when necessary.
  • Certification in dental assisting or equivalent training; additional certifications in medical terminology or endodontics are advantageous. Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
