Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures.
- Assist dentists during various treatments including restorations, extractions, implant placement, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
- Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
- Provide chairside assistance with aseptic technique and maintain proper anatomy knowledge to support safe procedures.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote overall dental health.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and ensure compliance with all infection control standards.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software systems including Eaglesoft, for managing medical records and documentation.
- Experience with EMR systems and familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry and pediatrics.
- Skilled in chairside assisting techniques across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties.
- Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately and safely.
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures and medical documentation standards.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and support the dental team as a vital member of the clinic staff. Pay: $24.60 - $29.62 per hour
