Position Summary
The Dental Assistant supports the delivery of oral health care by assisting the dental team during examination and treatment. This position is responsible for preparing patients, maintaining dental equipment and supplies, performing chairside assistance, and supporting front-office tasks to ensure efficient clinical operations and an exceptional patient experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Greet and prepare patients for dental procedures in a professional and welcoming manner.
· Assist dentists, dental hygienists, and therapists during clinical procedures by passing instruments, managing materials, and ensuring optimal workflow.
· Ensure patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and MHC policies.
· Follow established aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure a clean and safe environment.
· Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment per regulatory guidelines.
· Provide post-operative and procedural instructions to patients as directed by the provider.
· Stock and maintain clinical supplies and equipment; notify appropriate personnel for reordering.
· Accurately document patient treatment in electronic health records (EHR).
· Coordinate appointments, assist with patient registration and check-in/check-out processes.
· Send appointment reminders and maintain accurate patient files.
· Support the front desk team as needed, including answering phones and scheduling follow-up visits.
· Perform other duties as assigned to support the dental team and clinical operations.
Qualifications
· Diploma or degree from an accredited dental assistant program.
· Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) licensure required.
· CPR certification required.
· Minimum of 1 year of experience in a dental setting preferred.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency in using dental software and EHR systems preferred.

Work Schedule & Location
Standard Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM.
Flexibility to work occasional weekends as needed. The work schedule is fixed.
Work Location: On-site at Memphis Health Center, Memphis, TN.
Application Requirements
Applicants must be willing and able to commute to Memphis, TN and relocate before starting work, if applicable.

Pay: $16.73 - $25.10 per hour
