Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental materials.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment while maintaining proper radiation safety standards.
• Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
• Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and guiding patients through their visit process.
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being.
• Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques, proper infection control practices, and knowledge of anatomy to support safe clinical operations.

Experience

• Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments.
• Proficiency in dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and understanding dental terminology is essential.
• Knowledge of EMR systems including Dentrix or Eaglesoft is required; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus.
• Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge to support safe clinical practices.
• Experience working with medical coding and documentation for insurance or billing purposes is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially children in pediatrics, demonstrating patience and professionalism at all times.
